"Within a year, a walker"

Well, he did it! Hiro has learned to walk!! He now spends every waking minute charging up and down the length of the apartment with a BIG grin on his features. He walks everywhere. Crawling is not an option. It's so last month, m'dear.
Last night he spent an hour before bed just belting up and down in straight lines and circles. He has even managed to choreograph a rather balletic mid-stride turn to evade parental capture when it is time to go to bed and give Mummy and Daddy a break.

Thankyou, Jake

I am always happy when Hiro and I can share something we both like.
Recently I have found that the voice of one of my newfound musical heroes, the late, great Jake Thackray has an astonishingly calming influence on Hiro. His deep voice helps to send him off to sleep when all else fails. I even try and effect an approximation of his voice when the CD player is out of reach and I am trying to rock him to sleep.

Enjoy this clip. Jake is a genius.

Home and Away

Hiro really likes to kick back and throw some music on. He likes anything he can clap his hands to.

The Screen Attacker of Olde London Town, when caught has a few words in his defence

One of Hiro's favourite books is a series of pictures and sound effects. He won't let Grandma get away with just one reading. Oh no.

And finally, Hiro says that whatever you do in life, make sure that you always make a big entrance when arriving at any social function...

Hiro is 11 Months Old!!

Hiro can stand for brief moments...until he realises what he is doing, the spell is broken and he lands on his behind with a bump. He has favourite songs on his (British) Nursery Rhymes CD (Knick knack paddywhack, Give a Dog a bone, this old man came rolling home) to which he claps along with a big toothy (4 of them now - 2 up 2 down) grin.

What a clever boy!!

Elementary, my dear Watson...

The Crime: Punched holes in the Japanese screen door. 4am has never been so bright.

The Evidence: Fingerprints. Everywhere.

One Suspect. We think you may know who he is. Leave a comment and help us track him down.

Porky-Pine

Hiro is always in his best mood just after he wakes up in the morning. One of his favourite things to play with at that time is clothes pegs - even when Daddy intervenes.
