Ready to Crawl!

Art Exhibition-

We went to see Hiro's great-grandfather 's painting in a museum in Ueno, Tokyo. It was Hiro's first trip to Tokyo. It was too early for Hiro to enjoy art, so he was sleeping all the time! He weighs 10 kgs now!

Messy Hiro

Hiroki is 7 Months Old

Hiro is now almost crawling. He is developing a reach that a boxer would be proud of and his parents should be wary of.
It is almost time to start child-proofing everything. Either that or we are going shopping for a sturdy ball and chain.

Blibbleibbleibble!

I think this should set the seal on who is Boke and who is Tsukomi.
Take it away Hiro...

...and it's Goodnight from Him

In Japan a popular form of comedy is called Manzai. This is a double act very similar to those in the West in that there is a Straight Man (Boke) and a Funny Man (Tsukomi).

Just as in the West, a poor joke is condemned as "Corny", the Japanese say "Samui" (Cold) when the joke is old, predictable and not so funny.

Watch the video and decide who is Boke and who is Tsukomi. Shouldn't be too hard.
Can you come up with a suitable name for this double act? Be gentle please.

Meet the Great Grandparents

We drove to the Nagano Mountains to visit Hiroki's Great Grandparents for the first time and to give my Mum a look at a different part of Japan. It was alot of fun for all. I even managed to make myself understood in my own odd brand of Japanese.

No Cherry Blossom in Nagano yet. The snow is still on the ground and the ski runs are open.
