6 month check up

６ヶ月検診に行ってきました。もちろん大泣きだったけど、今回は病院での個別検診だったのでじっくり診てもらえました。７０．８ｃｍ、９４２５ｇで順調に大きくなっています。いないないばあを楽しむようになりました！

Granny is Here!!

Usually, Hiroki has a case of Hitomishiri ( ie he gets scared and bawls when he meets a new face) but this time he has been all giggles and smiles and has taken quite a shine to his Granny.

New Clothes

今日はとっても暖かな一日だったので、新しいお洋服を着て駅まで散歩しました。お祝いでこの服をいただいたときは大きくてしばらく着られないと思ったけど、いつの間にかぴったりになってました。

Lunch Time

Now Hiro is on mashed up rice and veggies. What a hungry boy. He manages to get most of it in his mouth but we do have to check his clothes, the floor and the walls for errant splatters of carrot.

予防接種②

今日はポリオの一回目を受けてきました。これでＢＣＧ、三種混合三回とポリオ一回が終わりました。ここまで順調です。今日は飲む予防接種だったので、診察でちょっと泣いただけで大丈夫でした。

偕楽園ーMitoTrip

We went to Mito to renew Alex's visa today. It was raining in the morning, but the weather got better, so we went to Kairakuen which is a famous Japanese garden. The plum blossom was great there. But Hiroki was sleeping all the time.
Chiyo said 'I never thought I would be taking pictures in Mito Station...'
It's been a long time since we lived there, so we are tourists now!

We turned our back for a minute and Hiro had escaped through the bottom of the donut and was already making his getaway.

Hiro and I are very happy. We just heard that George Lucas is finally going to release the Star Wars Trilogy in their original theatrical versions ie before he started tinkering with them in the 1990s.

The day started well with a couple of rounds of Pulling the Cover off The Disney Donut. He can now do it 45 seconds flat. Nice One.

ひこうきのセーター airplane sweater

ま たまたセーターが編みあがりました。今度は飛行機のアップリケがついています。これは腕を２回まくるくらい大きめなので来年の冬も十分着られそう。もうだ いぶ暖かくなってきたから、今年は活躍の機会は少ないだろうな。　Ｈｉｒｏは明日で６ヶ月、Ｈａｌｆ　Ｂｉｒｔｈｄａｙです。お出かけがずいぶん楽になっ てきました。離乳食もよく食べてます。ほんと、どんどん時間が過ぎて行っちゃうから、Ｈｉｒｏと一日中過ごせる後り半年を大切にしなきゃな。
I finished another sweater. This time, I made an airplane design. I made this one quite big so Hiro will be able to wear it next Winter. It is getting warm in Japan so he won't wear it much this year. Hiro will be in his 6th month tomorrow, his half birthday! It's getting easier taking Hiro outside now. He likes his baby food and he is eating well. Time flies so I want to make the most of the rest of my maternity leave.

やっぱり男の子！The Great Escape

最近知恵＆力がついてきて、なんだか予想もしなかった遊びをしてくれます。カバーを取るのが楽しいようで、ドーナツジムに入るたびにこんな感じ。今日の朝は穴からおっこっちゃいました。ハイハイして動き出したら目が離せないなぁ。

Hiro is getting stronger by the day! Today he managed to pull off the cover of his inflatable Disney Donut and then escape down through the hole and his getaway was only thwarted by the fact that he can't crawl yet. He is definitely a BOY.
Once he is more mobile, I reckon we will have to invest in a Ball and Chain.

warm day

It was a nice warm day, so we went walking by the river. Hiro got grumpy on the way home, so Alex had to carry him.
