Jet Lag

It has been a week since we returned to Japan but poor Hiroki is still a bit dazed and confused. He really must be tired when his two favourite past times (sleeping and eating) are fighting for supremacy.

Hiro is 10 Months Old

Hiro is now so close to walking it's not even funny. He had alot of fun climbing the stairs at Adam and Issy's home.
He is now over 11 kilos, his top teeth are coming through and he can clap and wave (but not at the same time : Don't be stupid! Give the little guy a break, will you!)

Day Trip to London

Two Mummies, Two Daddies and Two Bubs spent the day in London. We had a good time shopping and walking around. Hiro came back with an England Football Strip. He is an expert dribbler. (I have been hoarding that one for ages!!)

Windsor Great Park

Adam, Issy and Chou Chou took us to Windsor Great Park today for a picnic. We enjoyed views of the castle while Hiro worked through his fear of crawling on grass and really became mobile. After lunch we also had a look round the town too.

The Aran Islands

We took the ferry to the largest of the Islands - Inishmore with eyes closed to avoid sea sickness. Thankyou Hiro for also taking the opportunity to sleep. We spent a relaxed few hours there on a minibus tour, stopping here and there to walk up to the remains of a cliff fort (and scare each other by going too close to the edge).

.

We enjoyed a big lunch and after surveying the very "Oirish" souvenirs, clambered back on the ferry just as the weather started to turn.
I have never felt so sick. We all gritted our teeth and after about 90 minutes were back on (and almost kissing) dry land.
Ronan killed me when he said that he actually fancied one of the hot dogs he could smell cooking in a roadside truck. LOL. I think we all perked up a bit when we realised that we had all been in the same...er well you know what I mean...

Road Trip to Doolin and The Cliffs of Moher, County Clare

Our kind hosts drove us all the way across to the West of Ireland to County Clare. Chiyo's dream had been to see the Cliffs of Moher and visit the Aran Islands. I had had my doubts about such a long trip and had said that "they had better be some great cliffs". They were indeed I take it all back. It was absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed the cliffs, had real Irish Guinness (Heaven) and booked our places on the Ferry to the Aran Islands for the next day.

Dublin

Maedhbh and Ronan took us into the centre of Dublin to show us around. We loved it. Trinity College was beautiful. After lunch, we saw The Book of Kells, met a fierce American woman and then saw the Library used as a model for the Jedi Library in Star Wars: Episode II. We even found time for shopping - Something for everyone!! After all that, Hiro was exhausted.

For dinner, we had a barbecue in the garden and Aaron (another ex-Nova teacher) joined us! Alex and Ronan tried to do manly things with fire and a meat baller to get the coals to start.
